According to Vastu the main entrance to a house is north only the
entry point for the family, but also for energy, “considered as the
archway to victory and process in life”. The main door should face
east direction.

How many door should be there in a house as for Vastu?

The Vastu principles suggest that there should be two doors, one for
entry and another one for exit. The exit door should be smaller than
the entrance door

The main door should always be in the north, north east, east or west
as these directions are considered auspicious.

• South
• South-west
• North-west (North side)
• South-east (East side)

1. Make the main door of home the largest door.
2. A two shuttered the main door opening inside and clockwise is
   auspicious.
3. Use very good quality wood for the main entrance.
4. Make sure that the main door is noise-free while opening or closing.
5. Always keep the entrance door well lit with bright lights.
6. Make sure to have a beautiful nameplate on the entrance of a home;
   this attracts prosperity, wealth and happiness.
7. Have a threshold at the main door; it makes sure that you avoid the loss
   of wealth.
8. Always have some beautiful designs and paint on the main door. In
   In other words, avoid keeping the main door dull and drab.
9. Make the main door a bit higher than ground level and keep
   the number of steps odd.
10. The main door must be above ground level and not below in any
    case.
11. The best option is to have two main doors in a home, one for entry
    and another for exit having two and one shutters respectively.

5. Avoid any shadows on the main door especially shadows of other
   buildings, plants, etc.
6. Don’t keep shoes in front of the main entrance, keep them at aside.
7. Don’t keep garbage or dustbin near the main entrance as they emit
   negative energy.
8. Avoid automatic closing main doors.
9. Avoid main entrance facing intersecting roads.
10. Avoid the main door at the centre of any wall.
11. Avoid black colour for the main door.
12. Avoid temples or any other religious place directly in front of
    main entrance.
13. Avoid obstructing things like poles, trees, wires, etc., in front of
    main entrance.
14. Avoid arched windows and doors as they distort positive energy
